Teacher of French
Start Date: 1 September 2017
Salary: Main or Upper Pay Scale
Contract: Full Time and Permanent
Job Expires: 27 February
This highly successful Catholic High School with an Ofsted judgement of Outstanding (October 2011), is looking to appoint an ambitious and enthusiastic Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages.
Currently the department delivers French as the sole foreign language and it delivers the A level provision for our students and those at Haybridge High School, which is across the road from our school. The department secures very good outcomes for our pupils; 2016 - 82.5% A*-C at GCSE and 100% pass rate at A-level. The school has four specialist teachers who use three dedicated classrooms, all of which have interactive capability.
French is taught to all pupils in Key Stage 3, with GCSE and A-level provision as optional subjects. The School is looking to appoint an ambitious candidate with the drive and commitment to develop further this already successful department. A willingness to teach French across the Key Stage 3 to 5 age and ability range is essential. In partnership with Haybridge, other languages maybe offered at A level, therefore, the ability to support with another language may also be advantageous.
The school welcomes applications from candidates of all faiths and backgrounds. This post is suitable for an NQT or more experienced teacher who will support the ethos of this Catholic school. It is likely that the role would require the successful candidate to be a Form Tutor and to contribute to the Pastoral life of the school. A commitment to extra-curricular activities is also important.
