The Client
My Client, a private residential nursing care home in Bristol require an experienced Deputy Home Manager/Clinical Lead to work in their home catering for service users with dementia and mental health service users.

Job Specification
*Ensure, alongside the Home Manager, that each resident has an appropriate and good quality pre admission assessment and Person Centred care plan, which is delivered on a daily and ongoing basis, and which is evaluated and reviewed at predetermined intervals in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
*Ensure that all treatments/therapies and personal care/support is carried out in accordance with best practice and in line with current guidance from the NMC and in line with requirements of all current legislation.
*Ensure that the Home is working towards achieving the Care Quality Commissions compliant criteria and contemporary best practice Quality Assurance systems.
*Work with the Home Manager to understand good business accountability budget management. This may involve delegated responsibility for approving and certifying expenditure, and making decisions (with senior management support) in relation to home expenditure and income streams.
*Responsible for the assessment and admission of residents to the home.
*Ensure the proper control, dispensing and monitoring of medicines.
*Assist and have involvement in the recruitment and retention of staff and oversee the induction of new staff.
*Manage and supervise staff for whom the post holder has direct management responsibility and to ensure effective supervision of staff through the Line Management Structure.
*Assist in the preparation of duty rotas covering a four-week period at least two weeks prior to the commencement of that rota and to ensure appropriate staff cover is maintained on a 24 hour basis. To accept delegated responsibility for this in the Home Manager's absence.
*Monitor and manage the performance of all staff, taking corrective/ management action where necessary; identify training needs and implement as necessary.
*Maintain annual appraisal and monthly staff supervision systems for reporting staff and to develop/promote and reaffirm a good positive team working ethos.
*Promote, fully understand and work within Quality Assurance system(s), making sure that improvement is continuous and that poor practice/systems etc. are addressed.
*Write, give and receive reports from staff within the work place.
*Liaise with general practitioners/paramedical staff and therapists to achieve a multi-disciplinary approach to resident care.
*Liaison with relatives/ next of kin/ resident representatives on relevant information in respect of the resident care plan.
*Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements from the CQC and any other regulatory bodies/agencies.
*Adhere to the policies and procedures as laid down by the Company.
*Ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times within the Home, reporting any incidents, accidents, infections or hazards/ faults.
*Undertake mandatory training and identified training in order to be able to carry out the role.
*Assist with or attend to any other duties which are reasonable to the role.
*Be responsible for maintaining own professional knowledge and competence as well as coaching and encouraging others.
*Ensure the safety and security of the Home i.e. identification of visitors (sign in and out), alarms etc.
*Be responsible for own health and safety and that of colleagues and residents alike.
*Respect confidentiality and work in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998).
*Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Home and the Company at all times.
