LOCATION: Various - Haywards Heath, Horley & Burgess Hill, West Sussex
JOB TITLE: Assistant Shop Managers
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP15,225.00 per annum pro-rata
WORKING HOURS: Part Time - 16 hours / 2 days per week (will require 2 in 4 Saturdays)
THE COMPANY: Our clients mission is to lead the community in support of all those facing death and bereavement.
They are now looking for inspirational individuals to join our trading team to support their high street charity shops in Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath and Horley. You will be an ambassador for our client on the high street; raising vital funds for the charity.
THE ROLE: As an Assistant Shop Manager you will be pivotal in assisting our client's Shop Managers in leading and empowering a team of volunteers to engage with the local community and to maximise the gift of income from donors.
Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Shop Managers role in either Haywards Heath, Horley & Burgess Hill, West Sussex stores include:
- covering the managing and co-ordinating all activities of the shop in the absence of the manager
- Take and sort donations and make presentable ready for sale
- Responsible for shop merchandising
- Security of the shop and its contents and maintaining records of transactions
- Cash handling and general till work
- Engage with to build and grow relationships with the local community, to promote the the stores, the charity, and it's excellent services
THE CANDIDATE: As an Assistant Shop Manager should be have experience in a customer facing / care environment (this can be experience within a voluntary capacity) and must be someone who can deliver great customer service. You will need to have good numeracy and written communication skills so must have a minimum of a GCSE C grade in Maths & English (or equivalent qualification).
You will need to be physically fit and able to carry heavy items such as bags of donations. Most importantly, you should be someone who is enthusiastic, enjoys a hands on approach to work and someone who is compassionate and empathetic towards people and out clients company aims and mission. You will need to be able to take a flexible approach and be able to work 2 in 4 Saturday's
Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Assistant Shop Managers role in either Haywards Heath, Horley & Burgess Hill, West Sussex stores include :-
- Experience in a customer care environment or role is essential
- Must have a GCSE C grade in Maths & English (or equivalent qualification)
- Strong communication skills are essential
- Flexibility in the hours you can work including 2 in 4 Saturdays
- Although not essential, previous experience within a third sector or charitable organisation would be beneficial
- Not essential but a Driving Licence would be desirable
