Payroll & Pensions Administrator - Fire Service

An opportunity has arisen within our client's Payroll and Pensions section for a Payroll & Pensions Administrator, based at their Headquarters in Sheffield.

Position: Payroll & Pensions Administrator
Contract: Fixed Term (6 months)
Salary: £16,481 - £17,547, Grade 3
Hours: Full time - 37 hours per week
Work Pattern: Flexi time 
Location: Sheffield, S1

Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will assist in the preparation of payrolls for staff and pensioners and in the administration of both the Fire Fighters and Local Government Pension Scheme.

The role requires that you are able to demonstrate an understanding of Statutory regulations and PAYE legislation, dealing with high volumes of temporary and permanent pay data changes, ability to work well within a team, using a number of different system applications.

You will have recent experience working in a Payroll or Pension service up to date knowledge of statutory requirements and legislation. GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent) and working knowledge of MS Office Applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook are also essential. Having gained or working towards IPP qualification would be advantageous.
