Due to our continued success and growth plans we are now recruiting an Industrial Door Technical Product Engineer to join our back office technical team based in Alfreton.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, this role provides engineering and technical support to the existing product engineer specifically for (but not limited to) the Rolegard & Firetex product range manufactured at Alfreton.

Industrial Door Technical Product Engineer Key responsibilities:
- Create and maintain standard technical data documents such as; cad drawings for product design arrangements, component details, purchasing specifications, installation and maintenance instructions and supportive engineering calculations.
- Create and maintain production bills of material & production documents for technical & cost content in conjunction with the materials purchasing system and the production and materials controller function for our directly manufactured products.
- Provide technical engineering support for custom made Rolegard & Firetex product solutions
- Provide technical engineering support for research and development projects.
Industrial Door Technical Product Engineer Skills / Experience:
- B Eng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent if appropriate.
- Minimum 3 years proven experience in technical 2D drafting and mechanical design engineering.
- 2D computer aided drawing skills (Autocad)
- Very good mathematic knowledge and use of all relevant supporting IT/software skills, such as complex excel files.
- Good Knowledge of steel fabrication methods
- Able to communicate on all levels both internally and externally.
- Analytical nature to enable in-depth knowledge and analysis of subject.
- Proven track record of customer focus and delivery.
- Clean UK driving licence.
The recruitment process will also include a one day aptitude test to demonstrate 2D cad skills of simple and complex shapes and to also apply mechanical engineering calculations against set questions.
