New opportunity not to be missed! Our client, a leading tyre wholesaler is looking for a Purchasing & Stock Control Assistant to join the team based in Burton upon Trent. The successful candidate will join them on a full time permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary of £17,000 to £17,500 dependant on experience.

Part of a large multi-national group, they are one of the leading tyre wholesale distributors and commercial fleet service businesses in the UK. With an outstanding track record stretching back 45 years.

The Purchasing & Stock Control Assistant will be responsible for supporting the PSC Manager and PSC Team and to deliver the company’s objectives set out below.

Key responsibilities of the Purchasing & Stock Control Assistant include 

- Raise purchase orders on request

- Assist in building, maintaining the systems Item Cards/SKU’s

- Ensure item pricing is correct and upload new pricing on request

- Deal with the groups sales and service centres enquiries in a prompt and accurate manor

- Assist with overseas imports including incoming shipments and clearance

- Booking of goods into the groups warehouses

- Manage the process of your purchase orders from date of order being placed until goods received

- Assist in managing inventory

- Dealing with stock enquires

Skills, knowledge and experience required by the Purchasing & Stock Control Assistant

- Previous experience of working within a Purchasing and Stock Control team desirable

- Tyre knowledge desirable but not essential

- Demonstrates passion - approaches all tasks in an enthusiastic way. Committed to upholding professional standards

- Takes responsibility for own actions and visibly supports purchasing team and their agenda

- Self-motivated and self-aware - recognises own strengths and weaknesses and is committed to personal development

- Skills in Microsoft office preferred include enhanced excel skills

- Previous Navision system experience desired but not essential.
