If you are a committed individual who prides yourself on efficient management and development of learning strategies, who has experience working as a Senior Management member, or ideally an Assistant Headteacher, we would love to speak with you in regards to a brilliant opportunity that has arisen in the Huddersfield area. We are representing a Primary School who have a great reputation for providing a vibrant, stimulating and exciting place of learning for all Year groups, who are in need of an Assistant Headteacher to start on a contract basis from April 2017 - September 2018.
The role will be made up of, but not exhaustive of, the following duties:
- To be an inspiring role model for all members of the school community by demonstrating a positive, supportive and professional attitude at all times
- Lead the development of a creative, skills-based curriculum within the relevant key stages
- To lead and oversee the effective assessment and tracking of pupil progress in order to raise standards
- Play a leading role in the pastoral care of pupils, including working effectively with parents, carers and other agencies
- Key involvement in the development of the schools behaviour management policy, and to be a role model for staff in assertive discipline
- As a class teacher, to model excellent and innovative practice by consistently delivering good or better lessons
- To act as Appraiser to all teachers within the Key Stage, demonstrating rigour, high expectations and fairness to all
- Carry out regular observations of colleagues and give effective feedback
- To carry out regular supervision of colleagues within the Key Stage so that standards in teaching and learning continue to rise
- To take on the leadership of a core subject and to model exemplary practice in subject leadership so that standards are raised across the school
- Play a strong role in the work of school development teams in which the leadership skills of all teachers are developed
- To ensure smooth transition for pupils by establishing and maintaining effective and productive relationships with all other key stages within and beyond the school
- Model effective provision and successful inclusion for pupils with additional educational needs
- Guide and support colleagues in providing for all pupils
- To play a key role in the strategic development of the whole school
