A fantastic opportunity is now available with Europe's leading airline for a Crewing Officer.

The Crewing team is responsible for managing Crew rosters from two days ahead of the day-of-operation, using the AIMS Crew system and a range of supporting reporting and decision support tools. Within this period, the team works to ensure that all Crew rosters are first and foremost safe and legal. Beyond that, any changes made should look to achieve the optimal balance of a number of competing priorities, namely: operational robustness; cost effectiveness; and Crew lifestyle considerations.

Working on a 28 day shift roster on a mixture of day and night shifts between the hours of 06:30 - 18:30 or 18:30 - 06:30 the Crewing Officers report to the Crewing Duty Manager, who in turn reports to the Network Crewing Manager. The Crewing department works in conjunction with the Operations department, Maintenance and Disruption Team to form the Operations Control Centre- the OCC.

Your specific duties and responsibilities will include;

  • Maintaining safe and compliant rosters at all times, in line with legal requirements, Crew contracts, and company policies
  • Applying judgement and experience to balance a number of competing objectives when making necessary roster changes, including Operational robustness, cost, and Crew lifestyle considerations (such as roster stability, fair work distribution and minimal positioning) in line with the Crewing Customer Charter
  • Re-crewing uncovered flight duties in day one or day two in line with regulatory requirements, union agreements and company business rules
  • Managing roster change requests with sensitivity and discretion while representing Operational needs, ensuring the impact of each change is understood and accepted by the relevant accountable parties
  • Challenging disruptive and avoidable changes, where appropriate, in a positive and constructive manner
  • Providing cross-functional support for other Operational teams during times of need, as instructed by the Crewing Duty Manager
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest rule sets, protocols and systems updates. All Crewing Officers must keep themselves conversant with the content of the Procedures Manual, including all amendments, as well as the associated OCC Notices to Staff
  • Providing tangible feedback on the rosters handing over from Pre-Ops Crewing as and when potential improvement opportunities exist, allowing feedback to be provided to the Rostering team and actions taken where appropriate
  • Escalating any potential issues to the Senior Crewing Officer and Crewing Duty Manager

In order to be considered for this role you will need to have the following skills and/or experience;

  • Previous relevant work experience, ideally in Airline Operations in a Crewing, Operations or Cabin Crew role
  • Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent desirable
  • Excellent oral and written English
  • Knowledge of AIMS or an equivalent Crew Tracking system an advantage
  • Working knowledge of CAP 371 and ability to remain compliant with FTLs
  • Competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
