Description
As an integral part of the Research and Development team, the Software QA Lead will join a growing team ensuring all our products are robust and fit for purpose. Experience in the AECO sector is an advantage but not essential. Excellent communication skills with experience in implementing and improving QA processes is essential. Strong technical testing skills (manual and automated) are also required. This is a full-time, office-based role in the centre of Reading reporting to the Head of Research and Development.
Qualities/Skills
Software QA management experience across multiple projects.
Be a strong leader with experience in implementing and shaping company software QA processes and strategies.
Have strong technical skills (manual and automation), ideally in a continuous delivery environment.
Experience of testing web application using Selenium WebDriver and Cucumber (or similar) an advantage.
Strong, confident communicator who can interact with stakeholders to ensure the software QA vision is understood and implemented correctly.
Be an advocate of software QA, Continuous Improvement and industry recognized Best Practices.
Have excellent knowledge of Risk Management, Risk Identification and Risk Based Testing.
Have previous experience managing and growing a testing team.
Be flexible, a quick learner, with the ability to work and deliver to deadlines.
Must be able to motivate a team, spots strengths and weaknesses with team members and nurture/guide them appropriately.
Possess the ability to communicate with all levels of management and peers within the organisation
Have excellent diplomacy skills.
Main Responsibilities
Own and improve the Software QA strategy, approach and execution in development projects.
Provide leadership and technical expertise within Test Automation and Software Quality Assurance.
Participate in interviews, induction, training and performance evaluation of all Software QA staff.
Ensuring that the development teams adhere to the principles, guidelines and best practices of the Software QA strategy as defined.
Focus on continuous Software QA improvements including usage of appropriate testing tools, test techniques, and test automation.
Gather and present testing metrics and testing activities for the projects to key stakeholders.
Be an escalation point for all matters related to testing and quality assurance and operate as a primary point of contact for the Software QA team.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Minimum five years’ testing experience.
