Project Worker (Youth Justice, Supported Housing)

If so, you’ll be interested to hear that North Wales Housing have an exciting opportunity for a Project Worker to join the Youth Justice Team in Bangor and Y Felinheli.

As an ambitious social enterprise North Wales Housing provides homes and delivers services to over 2,500 households across North Wales. The growing organisation employs around 200 people and is proud to be accredited with an ‘Investors in People’ award.

Reporting to the Scheme Manager, as a Project Worker you’ll work within the Youth Justice Team to provide an effective and efficient housing management and support service, assisting service users in progressing towards desired outcomes, defined within a clearly written support plan.

Your main responsibilities and duties will include, although not be limited to;

  • Liaising with the Gwynedd and Mon Youth Justice Service Team in assessing and prioritising appropriate referrals to the accommodation support service, maintaining regular contact with the partner agency (Youth Justice Services) whilst providing support to the service user
  • Taking responsibility for drawing up, regularly reviewing and reporting on support plans and expected outcomes – fully involving service users as appropriate (in particular the Youth Justice Team)
  • Taking responsibility for drawing up and regularly reviewing individual risk assessments, fully involving service users in their review where appropriate
  • Maintaining accurate service user records and files
  • Completing a comprehensive induction to the scheme with all new service users (including applications for housing and related benefits)
  • Liaising and networking effectively with voluntary and statutory agencies, ensuring the provision of consistent good quality support and advice to service users
  • Providing a range of housing related support to service users with a view to enabling them to manage their individual tenancies with less support, and possibly unaided in the longer term

To be considered for this Project Worker role you MUST have the following experience, skills, and attributes;

  • Experience working in a client support centred role (e.g. supporting individuals in reporting maintenance issues, making healthcare appointments, pursuing hobbies, securing training and employment, etc.)
  • An awareness of the support needs of vulnerable people with the ability to work alone with confidence and good judgement
  • Experience of working in a customer focused organisation
  • You will have an increased fluency to converse in Welsh which will include a confidence to give presentations in Welsh. You will have some ability to prepare written documentation in Welsh but may require some support
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective partnership working and customer service skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to safeguard (and fully understand the importance of) the confidentiality and privacy of service users
  • Ability to understand and stay within professional boundaries
  • A full driving licence and the availability of a vehicle for work purposes

This post requires an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Salary:                          £17,258 per annum
