The organization is looking for a key addition to its Representation & Democracy team which is part of our Membership Services Directorate.
This is an exciting opportunity to support student-led community liaison projects and build constructive relationships with community stakeholders. The aim of this role is to support students to settle in smoothly and integrate with their local communities by facilitating consultation and collaboration with community stakeholders. This would include local resident groups, housing providers, businesses, charities, campaign groups and local councillors and local authority staff.
An important part of the role will be to signpost information that connects local stakeholders with our student community and supporting staff.
In order to succeed, you must be a proactive and personable individual who can work on their own initiative and develop working projects with tact and sensitivity. A commitment to membership organisations and knowledge of local authorities and local communities are essential in an applicant. The job requires an understanding of the issues facing our students and knowledge of higher education.
You must also possess excellent planning and flexible communication skills.
If the prospect of working in a democratic student-led environment has caught your imagination and you have a desire to support our community engagement activity then this post could be your next challenge.
