An Area Business Manager is required for a permanent position based in Bedfordshire/London or in MK. This is an immediate role. Ideal for someone looking to utilise their current experience as a Business Manager, supporting the whole business.

You will be responsible for assisting the company in achieving its business objectives and revenue targets by developing and expanding business in an assigned geographic territory, by the promotion of products and services to end-users.

Key responsibilities

- Act upon enquiries generated through the Company's various promotional activities and administer their status through the appropriate channels and systems.
- Promote products to potential customers in target applications through extensive telephone contact and customer visits and develop ongoing business
- Provide activity feedback i.e.: daily visit and telephone activity, weekly visit summaries, monthly sales forecasts, on a timely basis to Manager
- Feedback customer suggestions/complaints/queries via appropriate and informal procedures
- Acquire and maintain up to date product knowledge and competitive information on products/prices to fulfil customer needs
- Attend trade shows and seminars and other promotional activities, taking responsibility for the organisation of equipment and materials, when required and promote products to new and current customers
- Ensure that sufficient demonstration equipment is on hand to make effective product demonstrations; that it is kept in good condition and that item loaned to third parties are correctly documented
- Intervene in the handling of problem accounts when required and resolve to company and customer satisfaction in a timely manner.
- Maintain at all times a Quality-led approach to all service activities that complies with the needs of ISO 17025/9001/14001 including the preparation of all documentation, records, continuous improvement plans and customer complaint resolution.

- Ensure that all activities are undertaken and controlled in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to measure performance and demonstrate continual improvement.

Knowledge required

- Field based experience in B2B technical sales.
- Chemical or Physics background/understanding
- Demonstrable strong, inter-personal skills
- Highly self-motivated
- Proven ability in effectively managing an assigned territory independently
