I am recruiting for an Assistant Technical Manager to join a fast growing ambient foods manufacturer based in Stockport area. You will be responsible for ensuring QC controls, and the technical team, are able to support growth.

My client is an FMCG manufacturer of ambient food products based in Stockport supplying into the retail industry. They are currently experiencing double digit growth and aim to double the turnover of the company in the next 5 years while constantly improving the quality of their food.
Description
As Assistant Technical Manager, you will play a key part in ensuring the QMS and Technical teams on site are up to the task of improving product quality while going through volume growth. Reporting into the Technical Director, you will be responsible for site quality, supplier quality audits and sourcing ingredients internationally. An overview of responsibility includes:
- Develop and maintain technical specification documentation systems
- Lead company audits and nutritional training, including BRC
- Assist in NPD to help development team successfully bring new products to market
- Work with suppliers in order to develop quality and consistency of products
Profile
Our successful candidate will be a quality or technical professional within the FMCG industry, and able to work on site in Stockport as Assistant Technical Manager. You will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Relevant qualification or degree in nutrition, food science, or related field
- Background working within Quality/Technical functions in the FMCG industry
- Experience working within a BRC environment
- Confident managing and developing teams
Job Offer
On offer is a basic salary of GBP30,000 - GBP40,000 negotiable plus package. This role is Monday-Friday days with occasional travel.
