Who we are

United Response is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.  We believe in championing the right of disabled people to live, work, socialise and participate in the community, free of discrimination and unnecessary boundaries.

About the service

We have 8 service users across two houses and provide 24 hour support.

The people we support are mixed gender. Minimal personal care is required, primarily support & prompting is required with hands on support where needed.

Who we are looking for

We need reliable and passionate people to join our close-knit team of Support Workers, supporting people out in the community, as well in their own homes.  You’ll help them cook, clean, pay bills, apply for jobs, make friends and a thousand things in between.

Not got any experience?

A good understanding of United Responses mission and values and a background in care or support services would be an advantage but not essential. Don't worry, those new to care will be fully supported.  Our comprehensive training programme offers everyone – regardless of previous knowledge and experience – the chance to create a career they can be proud of.

What we need from you

You need compassion, integrity and to treat people with dignity and respect.  You need to be reliable because people are depending on you, be able to travel between locations and work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and overnight as needed.  You also need to be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and have basic IT and numerical skills.

The benefits

In return for your passion and commitment, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including:

20 days paid annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays , pro rata for part time) , which increases after 3 and 5 years service
pension contribution
Childcare vouchers
Access to free occupational health, physiotherapy, counselling and advice services
Fully paid training and access to nationally recognised qualifications
Travel to work scheme (season ticket loan)
Access to an online shopping platform with discounts from over 3,500 retailers

Plus the chance to make a positive difference to someone’s life every day - which is the biggest perk of all!
