The Project Test Engineer role offers real diversity and variety, where one minute you'll be in the lab undertaking some precision measurements and the next you'll be at a client's manufacturing facility, managing a time critical testing project. Strong communication and project management skills are at the heart of this role. You'll have constant interaction and engagement with clients at a variety of levels, from technicians to Directors. This role is perfect for an engineer who is looking to apply their technical ability in a client focused role and gain more responsibility for the projects they undertake.
As the successful Project Test Engineer you'll ideally have a background within gas engineering or will have worked with products used within the gas industry (boilers, flues, ovens, fires etc). Direct hands on product testing experience would be a huge benefit but experience and understanding of the theory behind why products need to be tested would also help. You will need the skills to build relationships with clients, understand their requirements and then deliver this work autonomously and will be required to produce detailed written reports to advise on the outcome of the testing.
