If you are an experienced transport planner looking to move to one of the leading third part logistics (3PL) providers in the UK, then this job could be what you are looking for. The company is working out of their client's operational base just outside of Solihull, Birmingham and Coventry.

If you would like to work office hours (8am - 5pm) Monday to Friday and take weekends and Bank Holidays back for yourself, and enjoy a week off over the Christmas period, then read on!

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Planning and monitoring core sub-contracted fleet to ensure all deliveries are made on time and in full.
- Acting as point of contact with the client regarding operational issues.
- Liaising between your 3PL employer, your team and the client to ensure all parties are satisfied with the service.
- Ensuring you have sufficient access to sub-contract hauliers at all times.
- Distance managing your team of drivers to ensure they fulfil the needs of the business by carrying out your planned actions.

The Successful candidate will:

- Be financially switched on to ensure that whilst the client is happy, the business is profitable.
- Be experienced in planning own and subcontract fleet.
- Be a proven people manager.
- As vehicle compliance is dealt with by another team it is not important for you to hold a national CPC or an international CPC or O'Licence.
- Be friendly and be able to positively influence your team.

This role will suit someone with a natural planning aptitude, maybe from a retail logistics background where you are used to reacting to a fast paced turnaround into a customer focussed environment. If you are a transport planner, transport manager, transport administrator with solid planning experience, a logistics planner or logistics manager then this may suit you well.

The salary for this role is circa GBP28,000 - GBP30,000.
