My client - a design and manufacturer of mechanical and electro mechanical components for the manufacturing and Production sector are looking for a Quality Engineer to develop internal quality processes, acting as a lead interface to production, suppliers and customers, driving improvements into the business from data analysis and lead Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations within a production environment

My client is a design and manufacturer of mechanical and electro mechanical components for marine applications in the Manufacturing and Production sector for the oil & gas industry.

Description

The successful candidate for my clients Quality Engineer role at their Hampshire site will fulfil the following responsibilities -

- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with the management systems and external standards.
- Conducting process / product audits.
- Supplier management, including auditing, performance monitoring, re-evaluation and continuous improvements.
- Responsible for producing monthly metrics (PoNC) and applicable product quality KPIs.
- Implement improvement initiatives to drive down PoNC.
- To actively promote quality and best practice (5s) throughout the company.
- Manage quality control personnel to ensure inspection requirements are met to achieve project goals.
- Produce quality reports delivering insights into production issues.
- Manage internal calibration system to ensure equipment meets the required standards.
- Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships with internal departments such as Operations/Manufacturing, Sales and Engineering.
- Identify and implement manufacturing process improvements.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and implement robust corrective and preventive actions, in response to customer complaints and internal non conformance's.
- Conduct final inspection audits to ensure conformance to build standards and specification, including validation of product records and customer requirements, as required.
- Supporting quality & other departments, as requested.
- Duties are not limited to one location and may be deployed across any site in the businesses UK Group.Conduct the necessary IFS transaction/functions to support the business.

The duties and responsibilities highlighted are indicative and may vary over time. The Quality Engineer will be expected to undertake other duties and responsibilities as required by their Manager.

- Supplier Quality Performance.

Profile

To be successful for the Quality Engineer role at my clients Hampshire site the candidate will have to present evidence of the following -

- Internal audit trained - essential.
- Good knowledge of ISO: 9001/14001/18001management systems.
- Significant track record of working in quality within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of quality tools such as, 8D, 5 Why's, Fishbone, DPU and PPM.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Willing and able to bear high levels of responsibility and accountability.
- The ability to evaluate information quickly, identify key issues and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgement, knowledge and common sense.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise own work load.
- Willing to work for the best interests of the business.
- Maintain the highest standard of personal conduct in performing all duties.
- Willing and able to deal with problem situations.
- Communicates honestly, openly, and consistently.
- Able to build a working relationship with customers and internal personnel based on respect and good rapport.

Job Offer

The basic salary is from GBP22,000 to GBP27,000 plus benefits
