WHY? Opportunity to work for A MARKET LEADING COMPANY within their sector who part of a GLOBAL GROUP OF COMPANIES. They have a STRONG ORDER FORECAST and maintain a LARGE HEADCOUNT ON THEIR SITE IN SOUTH WALES. The Quality Engineer will work closely with BLUE-CHIP CUSTOMERS and take responsibility for all elements of quality onsite working within a Lean and highly regulated environment.

About the Quality Engineer
You will report in to will report in to the Quality Manager onsite and play a key role in all aspects of quality assisting in the smooth introduction of new products and the ongoing maintenance of existing components.
As the Quality Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Supporting all quality elements of new component development and product improvements on existing parts
- Travelling to suppliers as required in order to be involved in buy-off processes in line with customer and plant expectation
- Liaising with technical members of staff on projects and with regards to non-conformance of products
- The Quality Engineer will provide a clear definition of customer expectation for each of their projects
- Ensure that components meet the defined and agreed specifications through hands on auditing processes
- Be involved in continuous improvement projects as and when required
About you and what you will need:
- Experience within a Quality based position within manufacturing is essential
- Automotive manufacturing experience is highly desirable
- A Mechanical Engineering qualification is desirable
- Must be familiar with processes such as PPAP and FMEA
- A strong working knowledge of SPC is needed
- Experience with Gauge R&R Studies, Capability Studies and CMM Report Analysis is required
- The Quality Engineer must be able to read and understand 2D and 3D CAD drawings
- An understanding of Lean or Continuous Improvement tools (such as Six Sigma skills) is highly desirable
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Exceptional problem solving skills are needed
- Must be fully proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
