Our client is looking to recruit an IT Technical Lead to deliver levels of implementation service through ownership and management of Installation and Upgrade jobs scheduled by the IT Operations Manager, including technical review, supporting project planning, the actual implementation and agreed handover to IT Support for monitoring activities.

Key responsibilities of this IT Technical Lead role will include:

• System design and delivery including consulting and advising.
• Providing technical expertise (mentoring and monitoring support as required) to standard and complex implementations. Promote learning within the technical team.
• Provide technical IT expertise on HP 3Par Storage and other specialty product ranges.
• Ensure levels of documentation are complete for the IT Support team to manage the environment handed over to them.
• Work with the team of engineers and 3rd party suppliers delivering technical elements of projects to the business
• Perform troubleshooting providing & hands on; third line escalation assistance to other team members, liaising with 3rd parties when appropriate
• Ensure that business expectations are met or exceeded in delivery of projects from a technical implementation perspective.

To fulfil the IT Technical Lead role you must have:

• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Core platforms (Windows Server, SQL Server, VMWare)
• Server/Storage Hardware – knowledge of HP 3Par, VmWare and ESX Hosts is preferable
• SAN/WAN Administration - knowledge of Network Design and Configuration
• Telecommunications
• Firewall Administration
• Group Policy / Active Directory / DNS / Exchange – Linux / AIX advantageous
• Project Management Skills
• A proven track record implementing solutions
• A good understanding of customer service, to promote professional conduct and company values internally and externally.
