My client is involved in the automation industry operating on various sites in the UK. Working with a number of blue chip clients in the industrial and commercial sectors. An exciting division working with a leading sports car manufacturer and other top companies are in increasing demand. Currently looking to expand the team and require a Mechanical Design Engineer to be based around the Dorset area.
Responsibilities for the Mechanical Design Engineer include:
* Project review meetings with key clients to discuss design requirements
* Limiting risk by using known technologies and communicating with stakeholders
* Technical leadership and managing subcontract mechanical design engineers
* Controlling project spend
* Implementing design standards
This unique role will require the candidate to integrate mechanical design with project engineering. Therefore we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer that will have similar experience or previous history of both.
It is essential the successful Mechanical Design Engineer is HND or Degree qualified in design or mechanical engineering, along with several years relevant experience gained developing Special Purpose/bespoke Machinery or Conveyors. It is advantageous if there experience is in conveying systems or precision tooling. You should also have some recent experience using both 2D and 3D CAD. Ideally you will be familiar with designing within budget and timescales, have had customer liaison regarding design reviews and have designed pneumatic circuits before.
Any understanding of robots and how they interact with machinery or conveying systems would be advantageous but not essential.
The Mechanical Design Engineer role can be commuted from towns such as Bournemouth, Poole, Southampton, Salisbury, Weymouth.
