Our client is a leading not-for-profit organisation that builds, manages and maintains homes for people across the South West. They are now looking for a Senior Technical Manager to join their team.

As the Senior Technical Manager, you will be tasked with providing technical support and advice to our client's Development Team in the delivery of 750 open market and 3,250 affordable homes in the next five years.

Working across Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, you will assist in land appraisals and overcoming constraints, identifying and acquiring strategic and operational land and preparing due diligence reports.

Taking the lead on various projects, you will agree and appoint a design team of external consultants, manage the design process and ensure design and technical information is available for appropriate stakeholders.

Additionally, your role will involve:

- Managing the circulation of warranty and building control conditions
- Assisting the Planning Manager with pre-commencement planning conditions
- Managing risk throughout the design process
- Managing the work of external consultants and the expectations and relationships with external stakeholders and partners
- Liaising with local authorities and regulatory bodies regarding approvals, notices, licences and agreements

As part of your role, you will be required to undertake travel across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

Interested? To be considered, you must have:

- Experience gained with a well-known house-builder or registered provider of affordable housing
- Experience of working with a standard housing product
- Experience of various construction methods and foundation types
- Experience of civil, structural and architectural issues relating to house building
- Commercial awareness and experience of value engineering

Commercially driven and team-focused, as the Senior Technical Manager, you must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to manage expectations and personnel. The ability to achieve targets and work to deadlines is also key.
