Working for an exciting employer located within the beautiful South West of England and an employer who is on a fantastic journey via a huge dynamic transformation programme which is currently underway.
We are seeking an experienced Highways Manager to work on a temporary basis. This is a great opportunity to work within Plymouth City Council's Highways department. The role primarily will be providing support to the Head of Highways, Parking and Marine Services to ensure the strategic vision, direction and agreed policies and priorities of the Council are interpreted and developed into transport outcomes and implemented.
For this particular role you will be required to have extensive experience in contract management of a MAC or TMC Civil Engineering contract. It would also be very beneficial knowing the nuances of the payment and billing mechanisms, specifically related to NEC3 contract delivery.
This role is for approximately 2-4 months and will be based within the Plymouth area. The salary for this exciting opportunity is in the region of GBP21.54ph.
The ideal candidate will hold the following essential qualifications;
- Educated to degree level in relevant field
- Relevant professional qualification (Civil, Chartered, Structural Engineering)
Have extensive knowledge and experience of;
- Managing staff, budgets and delivery of service
- Partnership working
- Contract management - including performance management
- Legislative and technical knowledge
- Project Management
- Change management
- Commercial awareness
