Senior Store Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Store Assistant to join The Community Furniture Stores based in York.The Community Furniture Stores are charities which help people create welcoming homes by selling affordable pre-owned and new household furniture / white goods. We also provide training opportunities to assist people into work, and we protect the environment by reducing the number of household goods entering landfill. In addition to our York Store, we operate in Selby and Scarborough and plan to extend into Ryedale.As a Senior Store Assistant your duties and responsibilities will be:
Working with our Store Manager to run the day to day operations of our busy York Store.Managing the display and sale of an ever- changing stockSupervising and leading a team of paid staff and volunteers.
An ideal Senior Store Assistant will have experience in:
Sales or retail background.And or experience of supporting and training others.A driving license is essential.
Alternatively, someone with experience of supporting and training others.We are currently developing our Work Experience project to encourage and build the confidence of long term unemployed people. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with retail experience wanting to build their team working / leading skills for a rewarding scheme. Your working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Saturday (5 days per week). We would consider Job Share.
