Title: Contracts Manager
Day Rate: GBP270
Location: Basildon, Essex
Contract Length: 5 months
Vacancy Overview
As Contracts Officer you will be responsible for contributing to delivering high quality contract management and commissioning support .
It is the responsibility of the Contracts Manager to plan, negotiate and manage contracts in line with the customers' operating plan and strategy. The Contracts Manager will lead on implementing innovative approaches to contracting to secure improvements in quality, performance and efficiency. This will also ensure robust systems are in place for proactive contract performance monitoring.
You will proactively contribute to the multidisciplinary team by working across functional boundaries and flexing resources to support customers' priorities. You will spend time working with commissioners to further develop a deep understanding of commissioning activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Service delivery
* Deliver day-to-day contact management services, working together with staff from all relevant disciplines to ensure an integrated, high quality service.
* Support the contracting elements of provider performance management and review, ensuring they are challenging, effective and achieve performance against the contracts
* Effectively implement systems and work in partnership with stakeholders to ensure contract compliance and continuous improvements in quality and outcomes
Leadership and management
* Represent the organisation and provide support to business meetings, as required, to ensure that commissioning objectives are met
* Establish good working relationships with stakeholders including healthcare providers, internal and external customers to improve contract performance
* Demonstrate strong team working skills to work within a matrix structure, where there are multiple points of accountability
Information and finance
* Carry out regular contract analysis, interpretation and reporting of complex data from the MDT
* Provide high quality reporting to customers, using benchmarked information and expert analysis to support commissioning decisions
* Proactively identify opportunities for customers to secure improvements in the quality, performance and efficiency of providers, including the use of procurement, and application of all relevant contractual levers
Service development
* Support the implementation of innovative approaches to contracting, including outcome-based commissioning, and accountable care organisations
* Develop knowledge of national policy, pilot schemes and technical guidance relating to contracting for healthcare services, and share this expertise with team members and customers
Risk & governance management
* Provide professional advice to customers about risks inherent in options for contract development
Education and professional development
* Develop personal skills, knowledge and behaviours to respond professionally to the needs of customers, and ensure that the organisation is seen as a trusted adviser.
* Maintain continuous professional development, including the adoption and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Candidate Overview
