Working as part of a team the Facilities Manager/Maintenance Fitter will support business maintenance activities by ensuring that facilities and equipment are maintained and repaired at to a high standard and as per legislative requirements.
Main Responsibilities & Duties will include, but is not exhaustive (without prejudice):
- To support the maintenance and repair needs of the business via planned preventative maintenance programmes;
- Use expertise in order to deliver timely and effective repair of damaged facilities /equipment;
- Minimise the requirement of external assistance and organise assistance only when necessary and with authorisation of the Facilities Manager;
- Conduct statutory checking of equipment / facilities in a timely and effective manner, reporting all issues found to the Facilities Coordinator;
- To liaise with external suppliers when necessary to support the maintenance requirements of the business, ensure the supplier base maintained and improved;
- Organise and maintain control of the on-site equipment;
- Ensure that maintenance critical parts are available at all times within the operation;
- To ensure that departmental KPI's are achieved and maintained in terms of delivery;
- Undertake maintenance tasks concurrent with available facilities and equipment;
- Liaise with the H&S Manager and Facilities Coordinator in order to request and organise external providers for maintenance tasks which potentially exceed local personal and/or equipment capabilities;
- To understand and operate within Health & Safety regulations and to observe and report all unsafe equipment and/or practices to the H&S and Facilities Manager;
- To supervise small work groups assisting with maintenance activities
The role involves working on a call out basis in line with business needs and Company policy.
