Experience and qualifications
3 years plus experience in an accountancy practice ACA or ACCA qualified within the last 2 years.
Good GCSE and (if studied) AS/A2 grades.
Working knowledge of Accounting Standards.
Auditing of private companies an advantage.
Skills Positive "can-do" attitude towards your work with the clients being at the forefront of the service we perform. Take on responsibility for set assignments, driving them forward to completion whilst working towards an agreed budget and timescale.
Ability to develop relationships with colleagues and clients alike with good communication skills.
We are a close knit team and our office is totally open plan (partners too!) so the environment lends itself to learning from each other and developing our culture.
Finally, we like to have fun doing what we do and encourage team members to develop their interests outside of work. Annual compliance services role description Mentoring and coaching more junior members of the team. Be their 'go to' person for help and advice. Research and advise on technical
accounting areas. Review of year end accounts for companies, partnerships and sole traders.
Dealing with client queries. Reporting directly to manager and or partner where applicable. Ongoing business and management services role description Assistance and oversee the bookkeeping and preparation of management accounts for a range of different businesses.
Clients range from Leisure, Service providers, Retail and Wholesalers. In this business area, turnover ranges from £80k to £3m.
Experience of balance sheet reconciliation including bank reconcilition, VAT, PAYE etc. Review of VAT returns. Experience with VAT schemes and partial exemption an advantage.
Directing and supervising junior team members. Managing deadlines for VAT returns and management accounts.
Hours Full time 37.50 hours per week 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
