JOB TITLE: In-House IP Solicitor
PQE REQUIRED: 4+
LOCATION: West Midlands
SALARY: GBPAttractive + benefits package
THE ROLE: Due to an internal promotion, an opportunity has arisen for an IP Lawyer to use their experience in an environment where technology and the resulting IP is at the heart of the business..
- Assist in the management, protection, exploitation and strategic direction of our IP portfolio encompassing advising on; patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyright law and associated litigation;
- Work closely with the technical, legal and management teams to balance legal and commercial aspects of product development and strategy;
- Work closely with inventors and outside counsel in preparing domestic and international patent applications;
- Draft and negotiate various IP agreements relating to development, licensing, technical services, and non-disclosure and other agreements with an IP component.
THE CANDIDATE: As well as a thorough understanding of Intellectual Property law gained in a leading private practice law firm or in-house, you will ideally have experience of working with clients in the technology or engineering sectors. More importantly you will be comfortable communicating at all levels across the organisation, building strong internal and external relationships and be capable of achieving 'trusted adviser' status.
