JOB TITLE: Clubhouse General Manager

SALARY & BENEFITS: Very competitive Salary - dependent on skills and experience

WORKING HOURS: Full Time - will require flexible working hours with occasional evenings and weekends)

THE COMPANY: Our client is a private members Golf Club situated in Morecambe, founded in 1905 and is conveniently situated minutes from the M6 motorway. The beautiful parkland course is enhanced by the Club's magnificent setting which overlooks Morecambe Bay and the Southern Lakeland fells.

THE ROLE: The Club is looking for an experienced, highly motivated and forward thinking Clubhouse General Manager. You will report to the Chairman and Management committee and will have responsibility for the overall smooth running of the Golf Club, for the benefit of its members and the many visitors who come to the Club each year.

Key Responsibilities for the Clubhouse General Manager role in Morecambe, Lancashire include:

- Oversee the day-to-day management & operation of the Club and carry out the policies and decisions of the Management Committee

- Motivate and lead a team of staff working towards the Clubs objectives, whilst maintaining high standards of service to members and visitors

- Oversee (with the assistance of the Hon Treasurer) the development of budgets and financial plans, including the preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts and well as maximising revenue and controlling costs

- Ensure all clubhouse premiss and other facilities are presented and maintained to highest standards for members and visitors

- Ensure the Club and its employees are compliant with all relevant laws and regulations such as health & safety, employment, licensing and equality legislation

- Managing media and other external communication to support the Club's marketing strategy

- Represent the Club effectively in its dealings with all third parties

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Clubhouse General Manager role must be a focused and highly organised person who has experience delivering excellent customer service. You must have previous experience and success in general management, preferably in golf club management, either as a General Manager/Secretary or an Assistant General Manager/Secretary. You must be flexible with the hours available to work and be able to commit to occasional weekends and evenings, and it is essential you have excellent interpersonal/communications skills as well as good IT/Admin skills.

A clear understanding and appreciation of golf and its traditions, preferably as a keen golfer, and of the challenges currently facing golf clubs as well as sound working knowledge of basic agronomics and course presentation would be highly desirable.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Clubhouse General Manager role in Morecambe, Lancashire :-

Essential -

- Previous experience and success in general management is essential

- Must be flexible and able to work occasional weekends and evenings

- Good Administrative and IT Skills are essential

- Must have strong leadership and organisational skills

Desirable -

- Previous Golf Club experience as a General Manager/Secretary or an Assistant General Manager

- Good knowledge and passion for golf as well as sound working knowledge of basic agronomics and course presentation
