JOB DESCRIPTION

Job title: Sales and Development Manager

Department: Logistics (3PL)

Reports to: Managing Director

JOB PURPOSE:

Working alongside the Managing Director and Head of Operations you will be required to play a pivotal role in the on boarding, sustaining and maintaining of relationships, projects and customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Managing the Commercial relationships with the client representatives

Leading small to medium size commercial proposals through specific process. Presenting and negotiating fees/contracts that secure new business

Agreeing non-routine agreements

Maintaining and amending contracts - ensuring they accurately reflect the services provided and fees charged

Monitoring performance against contractual or other agreed targets and escalating issues

Supporting regular internal and client reviews

Support for service improvement and cost reduction opportunities

Account Development plan input/maintenance

Support of agreed Business Plan and Forecasting process

Investigate, Develop and be forward thinking with ideas and be forward with these to the Management Team

Identifying root cause of issues and ensure corrective action is taken promptly to rectify, as directed by the Head of Quality. Ensuring the 3PL customer(s) are kept fully updated with issues. Escalate to the Head of Operations as required.

Take the lead role in the preparation and agreement of Customer and Waymade budgets and forecasts including scenario remodelling opportunities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Continually identify new Business possibilities in order to utilise Warehouse space to a constant 95%

Effectively manage your own time.

Understand the Customers and Companies Needs (Externally and Internally).

Provide Constructive Marketing, Data and Feedback.

Able to work to tight deadlines.

Report team performance in all areas back to the business via the management information reporting model.

Communicate across the business information pertinent and relevant to Company performance/achievements

Working to Waymade standards for Health, Safety and the Environment at all times, driving contribution to the safety culture enabling achievement of all site safety targets and maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping across the site(s).

Personal Qualities:

Have a Logistics Distribution with Supply Chain/Operations Background plus an understanding of Pre-Wholesaling

Ability to develop positive, trusting relationships across operational and commercial teams globally

Good communication skills, written, verbal and face-to-face

Good analytical abilities, including financial analysis

MS Office skills - Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Strong commercial acumen and ability to take part in positive negotiations

Ability to lead cross-functionally

A solid knowledge of our business gained in customer services, service contracts, supply chain management, business development, financial analysis or operations

A proactive, resilient and flexible approach is required

Problem solving and issue resolution - leading changes as required

Qualifications:

Educated to O level in English, Maths and Science

Educated or Trained in Sales, Marketing and Office Suite with either Further Education or Recognised Qualification

Experience & Competences

Professional sales background with ability to demonstrate success in a Sales and Marketing environment

Strong managerial & leadership qualities with demonstrable ability to support motivate & encourage team working

Experience of working in a target driven environment & ability to work to strict deadlines

Good understanding of contract fundamentals and processes

Analytical experience with ability to produce reports and data

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of pharmaceutical market and product experience.

Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills with ability to network and articulate well to forge links between Sales Field and key customers

Sound organisation & time management skills

Personal development skills

IT literate in Microsoft Software Packages particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and outlook for presentation and reporting purposes

Full understanding of ERP systems
