Experienced Plant Manager required to head up a specialist manufacturing & service operation (based Northampton) for a global manufacturer of precision engineered components.
SARALRY: Up to GBP65,000 Basic + Company Variable Bonus circa 10% + Company Car + UK Pension Scheme + Health Cover + Share Incentive Scheme + Additional Company Benefits + 25 days holiday plus Statutory.

As Plant Manager you will head up our specialist manufacturing and service site based in Northampton which specifically supplies the Rail industry throughout Europe.
SITE DETAIL: Circa 60 associates. 30,000 sq.ft operation. Quality standards include ISO 9001: 2008, IRIS Rev2 and Investors in People.
PERSON BRIEF:
We would be delighted to receive applications from experienced Operations Managers who:
- Are qualified engineers (degree level, preferable MSc) with direct experience of managing manufacturing and/or supply chain operations.
- Have a process driven approach to work with a good knowledge of quality standards (ISO9000, IRIS Standard), procedures and processes.
- Be a self-starter with a very proactive approach.
- Have strong people management skills, able to both lead and achieve organisational change, and positively change the way individuals think about and react to issues.
- Can demonstrate a high level of performance achievement from short and long term strategies they both developed and implemented.

RESPONSIBILITY OVERVIEW - Plant Manager
A detailed brief will be provided to those shortlisted but in short, you will manage and coordinate the operations and systems infrastructure of the unit through:
- The effective management of all operational functions including; Quality, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Production Operations, Warehouse Operations, Technology Advancement and Cost Accounting.
- Ownership of the development of the annual business plan and 5 year strategic plan.
- Ensuring this operational unit is compliant with corporate regulations and UK legislation.
- Improving Safety & Environmental impact by reducing risk of harm to associates or the environment.
- Monthly reporting of the unit`s performance against defined/ forecasted performance targets. In depth analysis where performance is below expectation, defining root cause and developing corrective actions to bridge the shortfall.
- Developing a sense of a ``one team culture`` through effective & timely communication and 100% adherence to the company`s talent management process. This includes:
- Recruiting and developing associates to reach their highest potential, creating a highly engaged and high performing workforce.
- Managing associate behaviours through strong leadership and taking fair and firm disciplinary actions against well-defined terms and conditions.
- The provision of a robust people plan to ensure secession plans and versatility training meets the need of the business.
