Working hours:
Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week: Alternating shift pattern - 06:00am to 14:00 and 13:55 to 21:55

With weekend overtime expected

Purpose of the role:
The mechanical maintenance of all machinery and services required for the production of sugar confectionery. The installation and commissioning of production machinery to the standards expected in the food industry.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all production machinery and plant services equipment, including breakdown maintenance
  • Carry out routine preventative maintenance on all production machinery and plant equipment
  • Installation of new machinery and plant equipment
  • The continuous improvement of all production machinery, including research and development
  • Follow set procedures for permit to work, job recording, health & safety and hygiene procedures
  • Maintain all machinery to the standards expected in the food industry
  • Fabrication, welding and pipework (Tig welding would be beneficial)
  • Turning and milling
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Bench fitting with hand tools etc.
  • A willing to be undertake any training required for the role
  • To carry out any other tasks commensurate with this post

    • Qualifications / Experience:

    • Fully completed Apprenticeship is essential or possession of an equivalent qualification
    • Installation and commissioning experience is advantageous but not essential
    • Experience working within the food manufacturing industry is preferred
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
    • Good communication skills
    • Good IT skills
    • Availability to work overtime / weekends with a flexible approach to work
