The business is largely driven by apparel sales through retail stores, ecommerce and catalogue channels, but our brand heritage comes from fly fishing.

Due to our sucess and growth plans we are now looking to recruit a Sales Associate to join us at our store based in Kelso with specific responsibilities of looking after the Fly Fishing department.

About the Retail Associate role:

Reporting to the Store Manager, with specific responsibility for the management and achievement of the fishing sales targets, through the promotion of our fishing merchandise within the store, along with the endorsement of the Orvis fishing tuition services.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide Orvis customers with extensive and worldly knowledge and advice on fly fishing equipment and locations to local and international clientele
• Developing a detailed knowledge of the product lines carried by the store
• Responsibility for general merchandising, display and housekeeping throughout the store and stock areas, to ensure the promotion of the Orvis lifestyle range
• Assist in processing of deliveries of stock and stocking the sales floor of all Orvis merchandise
• Develop the knowledge and skills of Retail Associates in fly fishing products and techniques
• Assist the Manager with the order and control of stock for fishing products.
• Act as main point of contact for visiting fishing clients
• To promote the Orvis Fly-Fishing product line and Fishing Letting/Tuition Services at both internally and externally organised local events
• Responsibility for the promotion, instruction and administration of the Orvis 'Learn to Fly Fish' programs

The ideal Retail Associate:

The successful candidate would be expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills to enable them to provide retail customers with technical fly-fishing advice and provide first class customer service, within all areas of the store.

Retail Associate Experience:

• Local practical knowledge and experience of Fly-Fishing
• Technical Fly-Fishing ability
• Computer literate
• Recognised fishing qualification (desirable)

Salary/Benefits:

£17,000 per annum plus three time life assurance, pension, childcare vouchers, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, staff discount, free car parking and use of Orvis fishing beats in Hampshire.

Hours/Location:

Working full time 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis, the position is located in Kelso, Scottish Borders.
