Offering installation and maintenance services, Jackson offers a wide range of solutions from basic fire extinguishers through to large commercial installations. Recent investment at the head office included commissioning of a £30,000 bespoke training room to enable Engineers to brush up on fire and security alarm repair and maintenance skills. It boasts seven complete alarm systems including Siemens and Honeywell for new recruits to train on.
Reporting to the Branch Director, as the Senior Fire Alarm & Security Engineer you’ll primarily be involved with servicing a wide range of fire alarms and extinguishers to a high standard and on schedule. As required you will also be involved with installations, and the servicing and commissioning of security systems.
Your responsibilities and duties will include although not be limited to;
- Servicing a wide range of small to medium sized fire alarms, and extinguishers
- Servicing, installing and commissioning intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems
- Providing certification for installed and serviced systems to comply with relevant British standards
- Identifying potential opportunities where customers could benefit from using additional services
- Managing own diary to ensure allocated work is completed on time
- Attending the Leeds office for weekly meetings and stock collection
- Supporting the Branch Director with specifications and quotations
To be considered for this Fire Alarm & Security Engineer role you will have the following experience, skills, knowledge and attributes;
- Proven experience servicing fire alarms
- Client focused approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
- Enthusiasm and professional attitude
- Ability to manage own work load with minimal supervision
- Full UK driving licence
Experience with installing, servicing and commissioning security systems would be advantageous, as would knowledge of emergency lighting, although training will be provided where required.
Due to the nature of the business, successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory DBS and BS7858 checks.

Salary: £25,000-£30,000 level dependent on experience and potentially negotiable for significant fire alarms experience.
Other Benefits: Commercial bonus incentives. On call out of hour’s weekly bonus of £60, plus call out overtime rate including travel time. Company van, laptop and mobile phone provided.
Hours of Work: 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Flexibility will be required to support business and client needs.

Location: Field based covering Leeds and surrounding areas, predominantly LS postcodes.
