Role and Responsibilities:

•Manage, motivate, coach and support Production Area Managers, Team Leaders and employees.

•To ensure the production team deliver good quality product that meets customer specifications in line with our Technical operating standards through compliance of all quality procedures and company policies, whilst promoting continuous quality improvement at all times through the ‘Orchard Way’ culture and tier accountability

• Effectively ensure that all Health and Safety regulations and practices are met and adhered to for the safety of employees by supporting audit compliance and promoting an open development culture to continuously improve.

•Ensure that full cooperation is given to the Health and Safety Manager in relation to Risk Assessments, accident reporting and investigations and legislative training requirements..

•Work in partnership with the HR and Training team to ensure consistent alignment to rules, policies and procedures and development needs have been identified to ensure appropriate skill set are available in and out of peak.

•Promote and manage the company’s performance review process.

• Ensure all company policies and procedures are implemented at all times.

Essential Requirements:

•Experience in a Senior Production role with a proven track record of achievements.

•Have a thorough understanding of health, safety, environmental and employment legislation both UK and in Europe.

•Driven by targets and have a strong commitment to quality outputs.

•Be familiar with and have practical experience of lean manufacturing production techniques, process improvements and pro-active quality management.

•Experience of commercial, business and financial management.

•Have a pragmatic, hands on approach to leadership and integrity that is highly visible at all times.

Knowledge & Skills

•Driven by targets and have a strong commitment to quality outputs.

•Established working relationships with retailer contacts.

•Be familiar with and have practical experience of lean manufacturing production techniques, process improvements and pro-active quality management.

•Knowledge and experience of Good Manufacturing Practice.

•Strong people management skills with ability to focus and drive staff to achieve results in a pressurised environment to strict deadlines.

•Proven project management skills in a manufacturing environment.

•Excellent analytical skills in order to monitor and manage Key Performance Indicators.

•Computer literate (e-mail/word/excel/power point).

•Appropriate degree or equivalent.
