Joining us as Quantity Surveyor based in Southwark, you will undertake all pre and post contract quantity surveying duties which includes the pricing of Compensation Events/ variations. Working alone or as part of a team you will complete Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR), interim, final accounts and claims. Controlling all facets of cost, budgetary and value analysis, you will advise on best practice and performance management. Managing the processing of valuation certificates and documentation, ensuring efficient income recovery together with preparing contractual documentation complying with all relevant contract conditions and company procedures. Supervising certification and payments to sub-contractors, you will hold the responsibility for delivering a professional and cost effective quantity surveying service both pre and post contract.
Ideally, candidates for this role will be a member or working towards membership of the RICS or hold an equivalent degree, however this is not essential to the position. With knowledge of NEC Contracts, you will preferably hold experience in the financial management of contracts. With a thorough knowledge of building construction, candidates for this position will possess experience of quantity surveying ideally within the Social Housing Sector. The successful Quantity Surveyor will have the ability/ experience of taking quantities from sketches and drawings to work up and abstract dimensions in compliance with the standard method of measurement seventh edition. A proficient user of IT, you will be competent user of excel coupled with a positive ‘can do’ attitude. We are looking for an individual who can organise their workloads effectively to meet tight deadlines and targets in the face of competing demands and cost constraints.
