The University of Lincoln is seeking an enthusiastic and Pro-active Information Security Manager.
Working with staff across the ICT Department and the University as a whole you will support us in maintaining, developing and improving our Information Governance Strategy.
The University provides a diverse and dynamic environment in which to work providing a healthy mix of challenges and exciting initiatives; the role is heavily involved in all aspects of ICT from project initiation through to Business as Usual activities.
You will be expected to lead on all matters relating to Information Security becoming a respected champion.
Key responsibilities
- Overall to maintain and enhance Information Security Governance.
- Conduct Information security risk assessments and provide realistic measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Provide authoritative advice on all matters relating to information security.
- Review and development of Security policies and procedures
- Development, maintenance and delivery of a security awareness program
- Manage any security events or incidents
- Liaison with staff at all levels within the University as well as with external security bodies and suppliers
- Continual self-development to ensure currency with emerging security trends.
- Skills, Experience and Behaviours
- Strong understanding of Information Security principles. Training and qualifications such as
- Security+, CISSP etc. are desirable, although not essential.
- Proven track record in an Information Security or IT Audit role
- Good co-ordination and organisational skills.
- Strong Customer focus
- To be seen as a champion of ICT Information Security with the ability to motivate and enthuse others
