They have recently made significant inroads into the baggage handling and automated sortation fields, and are looking for a sales manager to help push this division forward. With their outstanding technical capability and resources they are primed to become a major player in the field.
Job Description
Our client is looking to accelerate the growth in the UK and overseas Business, aiming to become the go-to company when customers require tailored business critical automated systems for a diverse range of sorting requirements.
This role will lead the Automation sales for the Airports Baggage Handling and Sortation markets. To succeed you'll need to be a dynamic and driven experienced sales manager who can deliver their ambitious growth targets. Candidates will be able to target opportunities ranging from (??5M to ??100M+) either working directly with the end customer, into other primes or within consortia. With an absolute focus on winning, you will be expected to develop and implement strategies to maximise return on investment.
Successful candidates will also be required to develop, own and close key bids working across functional disciplines and particularly closely with sales engineers and technical designers and the Head of Automation UK, both abroad and in the UK across the airports baggage handling or automated warehouse / sortation domains.
Ability to work across the company to understand and promote wider capabilities is also essential.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Deliver order intake targets
Drive deal structures and commercial offers and ultimately responsible for high quality quotations
- Translation of key customer requirements into a compelling and successful sales campaign
Lead multi-functional bid teams from suspect through to order closure and further into account development
- Support to key marketing events link to nominated sales campaigns
Represent the company in front of customers and other industry in support of key campaigns
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential skills:
- Demonstrable experience of exploiting and developing sales opportunities within the Airport Baggage Handling or Automated Warehouse / Sortation markets
- Confident networker and presenter, excellent contacts and reputation across the customer and industry base
- Key experience:- Track record in creating opportunities, building a pipeline, closing sales in a highly competitive environment, building long-term customer relationships that drive benefit into the company
- Strong commercial and financial acumen and ability to make and deliver forecasts to hit budget targets
- Airports / Baggage Handling (Automation) or Sortation background in UK and International markets would be advantageous, together with solid understanding of the underlying technologies and architectures and client mission/business goals.
- Exceptional communication abilities and the ability to work creatively to develop strong customer intimacy
- Ability to work in a multi-national team
- Additional languages (in addition to English) would be advantageous but not essential
