The Role: We require a Senior Interface Engineer to coordinate a number of teams in delivering cost-effective design solutions which are consistently designed in accordance with project requirements. They'll be required to facilitate the assurance of technical submissions from contractors to determine compliance with programme requirements and standards. • Lead the development of safe and affordable technical solutions to support these teams in design at each stage of the programme development • Manage and guide the teams, drawing on expertise from within the programme to deliver consistency of design • Act as the interface for governance and compliance, ensuring design development issues are consistently addressed • Identify, assess and manage project wide design risks • Ensure technical developments are instructed in a timely manner and that suitable gap analysis is undertaken to assess the implications of change • Lead the provision of expert technical and engineering input, designs and documentation throughout programme development The minimum qualifications for this position are: • Extensive knowledge of engineering design principles required to achieve optimal design outputs • Extensive experience of managing design and engineering, ranging from feasibility to detail design, working on a large, complex infrastructure project • Extensive experience of civil contractor management and compliance • Ability to carry out robust independent checks on a wide variety of designs and produce, interpret and assess specifications, standards and technical reports • Ability to resolve complex design problems, demonstrating a tenacious approach to tackling problems whilst maintaining attention to detail • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with a range of multidisciplinary stakeholders, demonstrating excellent influencing skills • Ability to communicate, engage and influence a variety of external stakeholders at public forums • Ability to communicate complex issues to stakeholders • Strong written and spoken communication skills, strong interpersonal and influencing skills • Strong team management, planning and organisational skills, and the ability to deliver under pressure to meet tight deadlines whilst gathering input from other functions Our Culture: Safety & health conscious, collaborative & friendly with regular social activities.
