Purpose
Provide a professional and cost effective service and solutions to the college campuses.
You will be a competent person and be able to cover a variety of tasks which will include painting and decorating, tiling, joinery and plumbing, and have a good general knowledge of electrical systems.
Duties
- Compile and plan painting and decorating schedule across both campuses.
- Measuring surface areas to work out how much paint or wall covering you need.
- Attend to damaged or faulty doors or ironmongery and rectify in a timely manner.
- Attend to any plumbing issues such as leaks, blockages, new installations when required.
- Provide high quality and high level of service to our clients.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy at all times and free from any hazards.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations at all times
- Ensure continuous development and improvement of professional knowledge.
- Work under own initiative and decisions to ensure correct measures are taken to resolve issues.
- Any other duties, of a similar level of responsibility, as may be required.
- To develop and effectively manage the painting and decorating apprentice.
- Assist facilities operatives in their work tasks when required.

Equipment & Materials: the furniture, equipment and consumable goods used in relation to their work

Qualifications
Essential Criteria
Good standard of secondary education with good numeracy and literacy skills.

H&S related training: manual handling, first aid, PASMA, use of ladders, working at heights, use of power tools and equipment, COSHH regs, and risk assessment training.
