THE ROLE: IT Developer (Java)-Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

What it's about
My client is looking for an experienced Enterprise Applications Developer( Java) to join our team developing enterprise strength applications used in the development and processing of assessments

Key Responsibilities to include: - IT Developer (Java)-Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
  • Working as a member of the development team to deliver solutions to the required standards.
  • Understand current systems and their capabilities so that you can confidently develop areas that are needed for the business.
  • Deliver developments iteratively creating documentation, tests, prototypes and demos as appropriate and as required
You will have a background in enterprise Java application development you should be comfortable working on both the front and backend of an application.
We are looking for someone who is educated to degree-level or equivalent and has worked on the enterprise application delivered using web technologies

Key experience for the role: IT Developer (Java)-Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
  • A good academic background (BSc or equivalent) in a computer science, engineering or in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of programming language: Java, Javascript with JQuery, and Java development skills
  • Knowledge of web application servers and their administration (Tomcat, JBoss)
  • Knowledge of one or more development frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, FreeMaker, MS SSRS Reporting)
  • Experience of the following within a commercial environment would also be desirable:
    a. Agile methodologies
    b. Continuous Integration (TDD and BDD)
