Quality Manager - Defence

Our client is recruiting on behalf of a globally renowned defence contractor which is a preferred partner of NATO and a number of first world armed forces. They are now seeking a Quality Manager to join their team.

As a Quality Manager, you will play a vital role in assisting the company to win two major contracts for military vehicles and a life extension of existing vehicle capabilities. 

Specifically, your role will involve the design, development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the quality management system which meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. 

Actively contributing towards company business quality management system (BQMS) alignment with ISO 9001:2015 requirements, you will work with management and staff to provide the necessary deliverables to satisfy needs. 

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, your role will involve: 

- Providing a framework and methodology that will assure quality, compliance and timelines can be achieved 
- Identifying how company performance can be optimised to be more competitive 
- Managing internal and external verification and assessment processes 
- Managing all elements of the BQMS including improvements, reporting and requirements 
- Promoting quality training and education across the company 
- Providing guidance to the board, executive management and staff regarding continuous improvement in quality 
- Embedding a risk management approach at all levels of the organisation 

Interested? To be considered, you must have: 

- Solid experience in the management and delivery of quality assurance and quality management systems within the manufacturing, production or defence industries 
- Substantial experience and understanding of quality system audits 
- A management systems internal auditor qualification 
- A degree 

Due to the nature of the role, to be considered, you must also possess United Kingdom citizenship and be eligible to attain security clearance. 

As a Quality Manager, you will also need effective communication skills and the ability to develop productive relationships at all levels of an organisation. The ability to think at a strategic level, make decisive judgements, work well as part of a team and be driven to achieve results is also key. 

German language skills, in addition to fluent English, would be beneficial, but not essential, to your application. Knowledge and an understanding of the defence sector and compliance with defence standards would also be advantageous.
