The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and focused BOM Engineer to manage and co-ordinate the ‘end to end’ Bill of Materials (BOM) processes and procedures ensuring that these are developed, maintained and accurately updated and synchronised to our agreed engineering standards.
BOM Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- To accurately maintain and co-ordinate and update the Bill of Materials (BOM), and Computer Aided Design (CAD) management systems
- To review all engineering changes and update the Bill of Materials (BOM) as necessary
- To calculate materials for product requirements
- Co-ordinate Bill of Materials (BOM) with Purchasing and the wider R&D Team as appropriate
- Co-ordinate change management tasks with customers and suppliers
- To ensure accuracy and consistency between all Product Data Systems
- To maintain new or modify existing CAD designs
- To provide day to day guidance and support to the engineering, procurement and manufacturing teams both internally and externally to ensure effective working relationships and ultimate product delivery.
- An ambassador driving continuous improvement in process documentation and efficiency.
What we are looking for
We are seeking a great team player who has the passion to drive, deliver and optimise the Bill of Materials systems and processes with a strong attention to detail.
As a BOM Engineer you will also need to have an enquiring and ‘can do’ approach with strong attention to detail and the ability to develop positive working relationships together with expertise in CAD, Solidworks and Catia V5/6. Sage experience is also desirable.
