Telecoms Engineer

Our client has a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Telecoms Engineer to join a growing Communications company based in Macclesfield, Cheshire.

In this exciting role you will be part of a busy technical team, working alongside our senior technicians. 

As part of the team, your key duties will be:

• 2nd Line Incident diagnostics.
• Adds/Moves/Changes.
• Escalation of Problems and Incidents to both our internal 3rd line engineering team and 3rd party suppliers.
• Maintaining and developing our self-care/knowledgebase.
• Site visits to effect repairs to or the replacement of faulty telecoms equipment.

Essential Requirements for the role:

• Working knowledge of telecoms systems and how they route calls.
• Knowledge of or keenness to learn about VoIP / QoS / SIP Trunking / ISDN / IP Telephony.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Enjoys engaging with customers and building strong relationships.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Keen to learn new technologies.
• Ambitious to progress in the communications industry.
• Willingness to work some overtime.

Desirable Requirements:

• Working with Gamma Portfolio Products including Horizon
• Knowledge of Telephony, VoIP and Networks including Avaya IP Office

Salary: £18,000 – £28,000 per annum depending upon experience
