We are looking for two Registered Care Managers to join our teams in Birmingham. You will lead a team of Deputy Managers and Support Workers to deliver excellent person centred care.

About the role

We have two exciting opportunities to join our team of Registered Care Managers in Birmingham. Each opportunity is to work 37.5 hours per week (full time) on a permanent basis. We have the opportunity to work at either Hawthorn Road (Erdington) or Old Coach House (Kings Norton).

We are looking for positive, proactive and confident people who can lead and inspire their team of Support Workers and Deputy Managers. You will manage and develop services and support us to achieve our ambitious targets for growth and deliver our strategy “Growing Stronger Together”.

As a Manager you will provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments and/or learning disabilities. You will effectively manage a team to deliver person centred, specialist services that meet organisational standards and expectations. As part of your role you will also provide hands on support within the service.

You will need to have a sound knowledge of person centred planning, rota planning, staff management/development and budget management. In order to support Sense’s commitment to high quality and accountable services, you will need to be aware of the expectations of the Health and Social Care Act 2015 and to develop an understanding of Senses’ Quality Assurance system. You will be required, to be registered with the relevant external agencies and maintain compliance.

A full UK driving licence is an essential requirement for both roles.

Skills and abilities

You must be willing to work towards a Level Five Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or be working towards an accredited award. You will need to have had proven experience of supervising and line managing staff in accordance with policy and legislation, as well as experience of managing misconduct, grievance and performance issues.

The successful candidate will have experience of dealing with challenging situations and of advocating in the best interests of individuals.
