Our premium brand Automotive client is currently recruiting for the following role:
Division:
Body Engineering.
Position Description:
A Launch Engineer with experience in Exterior Systems is required to work for a leading automotive OEM. The position will be a contract role based in Warwickshire with regular travel to Europe being required.
You will be responsible for successfully leading a team of Engineers to deliver a major vehicle programme through to Job #1.
Skills Required:
3 KEY SKILLS
- Experience during the launch phase of automotive projects.
- Experience of working in an engineering environment leading the development of products.
- Experience of leading a multi-disciplinary team inc. Engineers, suppliers, manufacturing, marketing & design.
Experience Required:
- Proven Project management capability - demonstrated by recent delivery on time & budget and capable of working in a reactive environment.
- Engineering knowledge of Exterior trim component design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrating an ability to communicate at all levels.
- PC Literacy - Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc. - able to assimilate large quantities of data.
- Significant experience in use of engineering tools - FMEA, Six Sigma, problem resolution etc. Familiar with 8D process.
- Able to support launch phase in Europe and possibly tier 1 suppliers.
Experience Preferred:
- Ideally degree educated
- Preferably worked in a similar role in an OEM or in an automotive tier 1 supplier.
Additional Information:
- Must be willing to travel to Europe, regularly, for extended periods to support launch phase of programme.
