Certification Officer      

Based in our Bristol home, salary competitive and depending on experience. This is a permanent contract, full time hours, and comes with a benefit package designed to nurture your wellbeing.

Pukka Herbs - creators of delicious organic herbal teas and incredible health supplements that take people on a journey of discovery to a healthier, happier life – is looking for a talented Certification Officer.

What will you be doing?

You will be the Pukka champion of Organic and Fair standards and the ‘go to’ technical expert for certification. There will be a need to work with others harnessing the collective effort of our operations and marketing teams along with our partner packers to foster a culture of certification excellence.’

- Ensuring compliance to our certification standards across all parts of our supply chain as well as maintaining our certification management system ensuring it is up to date and relevant

- Keeping abreast of certification developments and distilling what is most important to the wider Pukka team

- Facilitating annual inspections for all our certification programs and to actively engage with our certifiers both on problem solving and policy development

- Work collaboratively with our partner packers to bring in new certification programs and develop current ones

- Coordinate our internal training programs for our fair and organic standards

- To champion Pukka’s Mission, Aims, Objectives, Values and to participate in Pukka’s Appraisal process, ensuring own personal development and contributing to the overall performance of the People team

- To ensure equality of opportunity is maintained and respected at all times in accordance with the appropriate policies and procedures

- To comply with the statutory provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

- To actively participate in opportunities to communicate within Pukka, including attending team meetings

- To ensure that confidentiality is respected and maintained at all times and to perform any other duties as directed by management

Who are you?

- Educated to a degree level or equivalent

- A passion for Pukka, embracing what Pukka stands for

- Previous experience of managing a certification scheme

- An understanding of the principles of organic food and labelling and with that a knowledge of fair and organic standards

- Experience of auditing and inspection

- You are a passionate advocate for organic and fair standards and who aims high and is determined to deliver ‘excellence’

- You have strong written and verbal communication skills and proactive at problem-solving

- You have a flexible approach to work and change, to be able to change gears quickly as events demand

- You are positive and enthusiastic, organised and meticulous and willing get to stuck in, help others and work as a team
