Job Title: Logistics Operative

Location: Milton Park, Near Didcot, Oxfordshire

Salary: £21,000 per annum

This role provides an opportunity for someone with great customer focus and attention to detail to build a career with a respected high tech logistics organization working in the medical installation sector.

You will be responsible for the safe handling of goods passing through the warehouse; ensuring stock is accurately picked, scanned and packed as appropriate.

Main duties of the role:

  • Safe loading and unloading of Vehicles, avoiding damage to persons, stock or equipment.
  • Use of overhead crane (after training) to offload large items and to decant magnet vessels into transport device.
  • Checking delivered items against paperwork to ensure correct item and quantity has been delivered without damage.
  • Booking in items through Helis and SAP, ensuring KPI's are met.
  • Locating items safely in the warehouse in either the given location (SAP, Kan Ban) or in a suitable location, fitting to the size and nature of the item, carrying out any scanning action required.
  • Picking items as directed, safely and efficiently ensuring utmost care is taken to pick the correct item and complete the required scanning activity without damage.
  • Collection of items from neighbouring customers.
  • Delivery to, and collection from the factory line of goods and equipment, ensuring correct paperwork is attached and KPI's are met.
  • Packing items in accordance with customer directives to ensure safe arrival of item within required time scales.
  • Stocktaking activities as directed.
  • Maintenance of a clean and tidy work place using 5S principles.
  • Ensuring that relevant information is passed to the Logistics Manager, and Team Leaders, to ensure that non-routine or other duties can be invoiced to the customer.
  • Effective communication with Team Leaders and other warehouse workers;
  • Maintain stock control systems and ensure these are up-to-date.
  • Schedule the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance.

Essential Requirements:

  • Forklift license (counterbalance preferred)
  • Excellent customer focus
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
