Our client is a globally recognised company specialising in metal surface treatments servicing military to medical services. At the Chester Division our client’s sole business is shot peening service process.

An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Fitter with welding and fabrication experience. The nature of business means preventative and repair maintenance is a continuously exercise.

The ideal candidates will have own transport, physically fit, time served maintenance mechanical fitter, reliable and proactive. In addition you will need extensive experience and knowledge of working in a mechanicalmaintenance role within a medium to large sized manufacturing industry. You must also be used to working in a fast paced environment and dealing with aged machinery and technology.
 

Role and Responsibility:

  • Pneumatic repair, servicing, fault finding and testing.
  • Mechanical fault diagnose and repair.
  • Repair and replace values for air pressure tools and compressors.
  • Fitting pipes and components for air pressure tools.
  • Competent reading schematic drawing.
  • Welder/ Fabrication bias.
  • Safe working and maintenance working practices.
  • Diagnose of mechanical failuresand rework.
  • Repair / replace motors, shafts.
  • Varied hands on experience of mechanical maintenance.
  • Must be flexible with time as some night shifts may be required.

Qualification:

  • Time served/apprentice trained mechanical engineers
  • Experience in valve assembly / Pneumatics / bench fitting and tool making
  • City & Guilds Qualification, HNC or similar (original certificate must be provided)
  • Solid foundation of mechanical maintenance
