This leading European supplier of technical textile threads to the Automotive Supply Chain, is now looking for a Cost Accountant. This is a newly created role aimed at expanding the role of the UK Finance team in line with increased Production volumes.
About the job
As a Cost Accountant, you will be reporting into the Financial Controller, responsible for material and cost analysis, taking corrective actions to support Management information decisions in making for cost reduction throughout the business.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Make Cost centre holder responsible for their costs, Educate, Train and improve financial awareness, Actual v's Budget variance analysis, Improve/Initiate routine Sales & Margin reporting, Responsible for Annual Inventory count/Perpetual Inventory statistics, MAP out & understand £13m of annual purchases costs & Production variances and Capital Investment appraisals, Map out COGS GL's through Production process, Identify waste bookings, Identify production bookings, understand the material movements and suggest improvements to better manage variance reporting in the month end accounts

They are looking for someone who understand and likes the details and has the ability to drill down and ask the right questions; follow process flows and eager to learn and find better ways to do things whilst demonstrating understanding of cost interrelationships and the need to improve controls e.g. Scrapping form
Some travel will be required to Head Office in Germany. This will be for training purposes only
Travel will also be required to 1 location in Ireland and 1 location in the UK for the purposes of annual stock taking
Flexibility is required at busy periods e.g. month and year end Annual stock taking may require some weekend working
The successful candidate will:
- Be studying towards CIMA - or have Equivalent experience - Essential
- Have experience in a Manufacturing Environment - Essential
- Have recent knowledge of working in a similar role - Essential
- Have strong IT skills, particularly MS Excel - Essential
- Be Ambitious
- Have excellent communication skills
