LOCATION: Worthing, West Sussex

JOB TITLE: School Business Manager

SALARY & BENEFITS: Starting salary range HAYA GBP43,855 - GBP46,980 p.a.

WORKING HOURS: Full time, 52 weeks per year with 37 days holiday to be taken outside of term time.

THE COMPANY: Our client is a voluntary controlled Church of England School for girls based in Worthing. They inspire every girl to develop her skills, knowledge, spirituality and talents in a caring and happy environment. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a School Business Manager to join them.

THE ROLE: As a School Business Manager you will be responsible for the strategic overview of Administration, Finance, HR, ICT and Premises Management.

Key duties/responsibilities for the School Business Manager role:-

• Provide strategic vision, leadership and management of all School Support Services and business related aspects of the school, including Budget Management, Financial Systems, HR, Administration, Procurement and Premises Support.
• Maximise the use of financial resources and income, working collaboratively with other schools, the local authority and funding bodies.
• Ensure that the school resources are deployed effectively and efficiently to support the successful development of all students.
• Implement commercial approaches to contracts, building management, procurement and income generation.

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the School Business Manager role will have strong business acumen, self motivation and strong leadership skills. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Creativity and entrepreneurial skills with the ability to share ideas and bring teams on board is essential. You must live within a commutable distance to Worthing.

• Budget Management and Financial Accounting
• HR Management and Employment Legislation
• Be commercially aware
• Understand current and emerging political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal developments in relation to schools and academies, enabling internal and local change.
